Collective Series #29: A Spanish Inspired Night at Brighton Beach House

Saturday 19 September 2026 | 6pm | 7 Courses + 5 Paired Drinks | $119

For Collective Series #29, we're heading to Spain for a night of Spanish inspired food, matched drinks and, apparently, flamenco dancing.

On Saturday 19 September, Scot and Chef Donna will be taking over the kitchen to serve a fantastic seven course Spanish inspired dinner, while Steph will be behind the bar creating five matching drinks to pair with courses throughout the night.

And yes, Scot and Donna have threatened to flamenco dance around the kitchen.

How good the dancing will be is questionable. The food, we're considerably more confident about.

What is the BBH Collective Series?

If you haven't been to one before, our Collective Series dinners are a little different from a normal night out at Brighton Beach House.

Each event is built around a different idea, cuisine, ingredient or drink. Chef Donna and the team get to have some fun and create dishes that you won't normally find on the BBH menu, while the bar gets involved with matched wines, cocktails and other drinks.

There are only a handful of Collective Series dinners each year and 19 September will be number 29.

They're relaxed, they're fun and they're designed for people who love trying something a little different.

No stuffy fine dining. No need to pretend you can detect hints of freshly cut Andalusian grass in your wine.

Just really good food, interesting drinks and a great night out.

Collective Series #29 Menu

The MENU

Amuse

Pan con Tomate

A simple Spanish classic to get things underway.

Ajo Blanco

Chilled almond soup with roast eel and grapes

Cool, creamy and slightly unexpected. Which is exactly what a Collective Series dish should be.

Spanish Tortilla

With aioli and crisp garlic

A BBH take on one of Spain's classics.

Roast Octopus

Romesco sauce, lemon curd and potato bravas

One we're particularly looking forward to getting on the table.

Pan de Cristal

Anchovy and tomato sorbet

Crisp, salty, fresh and definitely not something you'll find on your average Saturday night menu.

Spanish Style Beef Cheek

White bean and fennel puree, sherry jus, crispy shallots and parsley

Rich, slow cooked beef cheek with plenty of Spanish influence.

Dessert

Lemon Arroz con Leche

Our Spanish inspired finish to the night.

And Then There Are The Drinks...

Steph will be working her magic behind the BBH bar, creating five matched drinks to accompany five of the seven courses.

We're not revealing everything just yet.

That's part of the fun.

Your ticket includes all seven courses and all five drink pairings, so once you're sitting down, you can leave the decisions to us.

A Different Kind of Saturday Night in Christchurch

The Collective Series has always been about giving our guests something they wouldn't normally experience at BBH.

It's a chance for our kitchen and bar teams to play around, try new things and take everyone somewhere different for an evening.

This time it's Spain.

And all without the airfare from Christchurch.

Not bad for $119.

Book Collective Series #29

Saturday 19 September 2026

Places are limited and our Collective Series dinners have a habit of filling up, so don't leave this one until the last minute.

Get your friends together, book your table and come hungry.

We'll take care of the food and drinks. And possibly the flamenco.
