Introducing Our New Summer Menu at Brighton Beach House

Summer has officially arrived at Brighton Beach House — and so has our brand-new summer menu. Fresh flavours, bright colours, local favourites, and a few delicious surprises are ready to roll out across our brunch, lunch, and evening plates. Whethe

r you're a long-time BBH regular or discovering us for the first time, this new menu has something for everyone… and yes, don’t worry — we’ve kept the classics you’d riot over if we removed them.

Let’s take a little tour of what’s cooking this summer.


☀️ Summer Brunch: Daily Until 11:30am

Our brunch menu is packed with flavour and sunshine — perfect for slow mornings, beach walks, or catching up with friends.

The Favourites (don’t panic — we kept them!)

  • Eggs Benedict — bacon, mushrooms or the must-order smoked salmon

  • Fresh Fruit Bowl — served with vegan coconut yoghurt & toasted muesli

These dishes are crowd-pleasers for a reason, and they’re here to stay.

New Brunch Dishes for Summer

We’ve added some brand-new brunch beauties that we know will earn their own fan base fast:

Savoury French Toast

Garlic herb French toast, topped with mushrooms and poached egg, finished with silky hollandaise. It’s rich. It’s comforting. It’s the summer breakfast you didn’t know you needed.

Turkish Eggs

Two poached eggs on crispy roti, with minted Greek yoghurt, crispy chilli, garlic and onion sauce. Bright, fresh, and full of spice — your new go-to brunch dish.


🍔 After 11:30am: Lunch Favourites & Big Flavours

When brunch ends, the big hitters come out.

The Icons Return

  • Extreme Cheeseburger with Cheese Fondue Dip — the legend lives on

  • Korean Fried Chicken — crispy, saucy, crowd-pleasing

  • Eggs Benedict (yes, still available late lunch)

Sweet As Waffles… now bigger

We’re teaming up again with local legends Sweet As Waffles.This summer: go large with our new Passionfruit Waffles topped with vanilla ice cream. Bigger waffles, bigger smiles.

Seafood Chowder (don’t worry, we know better than to remove it)

Our famous creamy chowder with a splash of chardonnay is still here. If we ever took it off, there’d be riots in New Brighton — so it’s staying right where it belongs.


🍷 Friday Nights: “Graze After Three” – Our New Sharing Plates Menu

Friday evenings now belong to good company, cold drinks, and shared plates.

Graze After Three is our brand-new evening menu designed for passing around the table with mates, family, or your favourite date night partner.

Choose a few, mix and match, and settle in with a glass of wine, craft beer (New Brighton Lager, of course!) or one of our new summer cocktails.

Some of the new dishes you’ll love:

  • Herbie Tempura Fish Goujons

  • Ginger Caramel on Lui Shui Marinated Crispy Pork Belly

  • Sardines with Salsa Verde on Sourdough

  • Crumbed Mushrooms with aioli

  • Chickpea Salad

  • Mini BBQ Ribs & Slaw

And yes… we kept the Classic Kiwi Chips & Dip. Because nothing pairs better with drinks than dunking salt & vinegar chips into creamy onion dip. It’s a national treasure — and a perfect bar snack.

Our new summer menu lands Thursday 4th December, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

From the first brunch dish of the morning to late-afternoon drinks and shared plates at sunset, this menu is all about celebrating good food, good weather, and good times in our favourite corner of Christchurch.
